The following are five different types of application software and examples of each:

• Spreadsheet-Microsoft Excel, Lotus 123
• Database-Microsoft Access, Oracle 11g
• Word- Microsoft Word, Notepad
• Presentaion- Microsoft Powerpoint
• Movie Making- Windows Movie Maker
